One of my creative goals was to have my quilting skills be good enough to submit a quilt to a quilt show/competition. When I say “quilting skills” I mean ALL of the following:
- Piecing. The points that are supposed to meet actually meet.
- Quilting. Even stitches. Interesting designs.
- Binding. Even width around the entire quilt. Four perfectly mitered corners.
I took a hand quilting class in 2004 and realized that I hate sewing by hand. In August 2016, my husband bought me a sewing machine and I tried quilting again. After creating several quilts since that time, I can happily report that I have achieved this goal with the LOVE quilt, which I completed on July 28, 2019.

The LOVE quilt spells “love” in Morse Code. The day I completed the quilt, I entered it into the 2019 Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza. My quilt was accepted!!! This show was held from September 12-15, 2019 at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA.

I was even featured in my local newspaper. It was a fabulous feeling to see my quilt hanging in a national show. Seeing my quilt in the show increased my confidence. Time to work on my next creative goal!
