Rest in Peace, Steve Jobs

20111006-005421.jpg Steve Jobs, co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Apple, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at the age of 56 after fighting pancreatic cancer. I can still remember purchasing a Macintosh computer as a first year student at Brown University in the early 1990s.  Since that time, I have invested in several products from Apple. In fact, I am writing this post on the WordPress app on my iPad. Among many other things, Steve Jobs was an imaginative innovator. His creative spirit will be sorely missed.

Steve Jobs is quoted as saying, “When you’re a carpenter making a beautiful chest of drawers, you’re not going to use a piece of plywood on the back, even though it faces the wall and nobody will ever see it. You’ll know it’s there, so you’re going to use a beautiful piece of wood on the back. For you to sleep well at night, the aesthetic, the quality, has to be carried all the way through.”

My sincere condolences and prayers go out to his widow and four children. May his soul rest in peace.
